Subclass of Wizard.
Can turn undead as clerics.
Can use Detect Magic as an at will ability
The mystic does not cast like other spellcasters. The Mystic Spell List is a compilation of most of the Cleric Spell List and most of the Wizard Spell List. While a mystic is casting both arcane and divine spells, they must specialize in one or the other. This will affect the spell list in two ways.
First, some of more powerful spells are limited to mystics of the appropriate specialization.
Second, of the spells shared between the Cleric and Wizard spell lists, a mystic will use the version of their specialization.
Every time a mystic casts a spell, they must make a save vs magic. If they fail, they gain a corruption point. For every 5 corruption points, a corruption level is gained. Every corruption level will add a cumulative -1 penalty to future corruption saves and cause a random manifestation of the corruption such as alignment changes, physical mutations, magical auras, and so on.
When attempting to cast a spell, roll 2d6 – Spell Level + Spell Bonus (see Progression Table).
|< 5||Spell Fails|
|7+||Spell cast normally|
The spell slot is not consumed unless the spell casting fails. This check is made in addition to the normal spell process. Casting the spell successfully does not negate any normal things that might prevent a spell’s effects, like saving throws. A target making it’s saving throw does not count as spell failure.
Uses Wizard Saving Throws with a +3 to all saves against magic.
